Energy absorption characteristics of honeycomb materials with negative poisson’s ratio*

Abstract Using a combination of finite element numerical simulation and experimental verification, the honeycomb structure with different parameters negative Poisson’s ratio is compressed at uniform speed. The influence angle parameter θ , size h thickness t on energy absorption whole studied, main factors influencing are discussed. results show that larger concave angle, smaller cell, better overall structure, has greatest absorption. Meanwhile, it demonstrated hybrid auxetic material
